South Carolina's Living Frontier
The history of the West was built on Black grit. From the Lowcountry to the Upstate, Black cowboys have defined South Carolina's ranching culture for centuries. Legendary figures like Bass Reeves, the indomitable lawman, and Bill Pickett, the pioneer of bulldogging, set the standard for a legacy that refused to be forgotten.
Today, this heritage isn't just in the history books—it's in the saddle. By passing down the skills of horsemanship and husbandry, we ensure that younger generations carry forward a spirit of independence and community, shaping the future of the Black cowboy identity in the Palmetto State.
